'UNITS COM SEMPRE': VALENCIA CF AND PUMA's T-SHIRT IN SUPPORT OF THE VICTIMS OF THE DANA
100% of the amount will go to help children affected by the DANA to return to sports and educational activities.
Carlos Soler received some good news on Tuesday, July 29th, with the announcement of his callup for the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer. The Valencia CF midfielder, who has been a regular for Spain at youth level and made his senior debut earlier this month, spoke to VCF Media Radio after the announcement.
"I'm very happy to be on the list and to be part of these Olympic Games. The competition will be a little different, but we always face these tournaments with great enthusiasm. This morning, when I saw that I was on the list, I felt really happy. I knew that I was on the pre-list, but I also knew that with the level of talent that we have, it was not going to be easy. It is great news for me and for everybody around me," said Soler.
"It has been two years since the Under-21s European Championships, and since then many positive things have happened for me with Valencia CF and with the national team," continued the VCF skipper. "It is a great joy for me, for my family and my friends to be able to go to the Olympic Games."
Soler also talked about the privelige going to an Olympic Games represents, and his objective for the summer.
"It's something that either comes along once in your life or you cannot go. There are many players who don't have the possibility because their team hasn't qualified. We are going to enjoy the experience and hopefully return with the gold medal."
It is part of a busy schedule for Soler, who expects to join up with the Valencia CF squad in just over a month's time.
"I will join up with Spain tomorrow and then we are off to Benidorm for a short preseason. We will play against Egypt, Australia and Argentina, opponents that we have to learn about. There are three weeks left, but we have to prepare well and put the holidays to one side.
"I will have preseason with the national team and hopefully I can return to the Ciudad Deportiva on August 8th or 9th, after the final, with a gold medal to start the season."
